The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

To facilitate discussion on a potential future working relationship

To pass on to mutual or 3rd party organisations who you may be able to assist

To register on a Future Earth Lab training course

To register on a webinar being run, organised or administered by Future Earth Lab.

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

Mutual contacts/organisations who may want us to make contact with each other, either for direct collaboration or in assisting with external projects.

Linkedin when looking for industry or field experts who may be interested in collaborating.

We may share this information with NGOs or professionals we work with in order to facilitate co-operation and interconnected working. This will only be done with your consent.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), depending on the information we hold and how we have obtained it, the lawful bases we may rely on for processing this information are:

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored in an email folder only accessible by the Head of Operations (in charge of HR and Finance) and the CEO.
We keep personal contact details for x years after last correspondence. We will then dispose of your information by deleting your contact details from our emails and the contacts database.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
